The valley between the Great Himalayan range and the Pir Panjal mountain range is calledknown as Kashmir. It is a place of simplicity and pristine natural beauty. Marchoi valley winter trek lies in Kashmir.
If you want to see some exquisite colourful flowers, rest at never ending green meadows and drink water straight from numerous streams and sleep in the shadows of mighty Himalayan ranges, then this is trek for you. This trek leads you to interiors of the valley from a very popular hill station called Narang. The entire trek is on the ancient routes taken by the shepards or bakarwals as they are locally called in this region.
Overall this is an easy to moderate level 6-day trek and requires one to physically fit to trek.
Best time to do this trek is between December to February every year.
Perfect winter trek for those who want to avoid the extreme rush of Har Ki Dun, Kedarkantha, Dodital like treks or want to avoid the extreme cold of Markha Valley.

3 Hours Before Flight Time
Once you arrive at Srinagar, you can take a shared taxi from the Srinagar Tourist Reception Center. Overall drive is about 3.5 to 4 hours. The drive is scenic all the way. You shall be crossing quiet a few meadows on the way and see the mighty mountains as well.
Once you reach Narang, our representative will receive you and transfer you to the homestay where you will staying for today.
Today we shall start our trek post breakfast. This is going to be an easy 2-hour trek and will be good for acclimatization. Our starting point for the trek will be the Naranag Temple built by Lalitaditya Muktapida from Karkota Dynasty. The entire trek will be through pine and silver birch forests. Todays trek will mostly be a steady descend into the valley.
From today onwards, all our stay will be in tents.
Post an early morning tea coffee session, we will help the staff in wrapping up the campsite. A bit of help goes a long way.
Post breakfast, we shall start our trek today to Marchoi Valley. Todays trek will lead us to Marchoi valley via some lush green grazing grounds and few streams. Some of the streams will have wooden bridges and some we will have to cross over just walking through the water. Ensure that you follow the Trek Leader during the trek. Depending on the group’s speed, it will take between 4 to 5 hours to reach our camping site.
Today stay will be in tents.
Today, post a late breakfast;depending on the weather, we all can hike to Shadimarg Top. The hike to the top is about an hour. The view from there is magnificent. You can see the entire valley and the mountain ranges in one frame.
In case you don’t want to hike, you can rest the campsite. Enjoy the surroundings and engage in any soul satisfying activity (that does not disturb others or nature).

Today we shall head back to the Narang village from where we started. We will start early today so that can reach Narang village early and explore the surrounding areas. Those who want to head back to Srinagar can get a taxi from Narang as well.
