So far unexplored, Deoban near Chakrata is a popular weekend trek from Dehradun. From Dehradun we drive to Chakrata which is a 88 kms drive and from there starts the Deoban Trek. Deoban Trek is also a Winter trek for someone who wants to experience snow. Deoban Trek lies in the Kanasar Forest range bordering Himachal Pradesh. It is at a height of 3000 Meters above sea level.

3 Hours Before Flight Time
We start our day early after breakfast from our hotel and get into the vehicle (Mahindra Bolero) and drive towards Indroli village. Team Wanderers guide will join from the hotel at Chakrata.
We cover this road journey in about an hour and 45mins to reach the Indroli village. This road journey is like the typical mountain roads with steep turns and uneven trails. Not all of this road is of Tar so the last stretch is going to be slightly rough.
After reaching Indroli village, we will assemble for a short briefing by the guide or the trek lead and have an introduction session. Water is an issue in beteen so we carry our own water bottles in a day pack. We provide packed lunch and some dry rations as chocolate, biscuits and juices as the mid-way meal. It is good to carry chocolate/ energy bars for the route as there are no shops along the trail.
Chakrata is at an altitude of 7,000 feet and we plan to trek up to 9,500 feet to reach Deoban. We trek through forests filled with Broadleaved Oaks, Coniferous Pines, Fir and Devdhar trees. Langurs, wild boars, wild foxes can be spotted on these trails. A 5kms gentle ascend on the trail takes us to Deoban. We would take about 3 to 4hours to make it to the top. On reaching the top, we have a quick session to getting introduced to the beautiful Himalayan peaks as Shrikhand Kailash, Swargarohini, Banderpoonch, Ranglana and a few more. We have our packed lunch here and enjoy the views all around.
After reaching the top, we pitch our tents following the camping techniques. We stretch our tired muscles and relax with a good diet to follow. Have dinner and call it a day.
After waking up to amazing views of the Himalayas around us we get ready for the descend. After breakfast, would get us down to the Indroli village from where we started the trek. We reach Indroli and get into the vehicles and drive back to the hotel.
