Dodital is a perfect beginner level trek. Dodital Trek (Dodi Lake) is at a height of 3310 Mtrs & Darwa pass at a height of 4140 Meters, making it a great choice for people wanting to explore trekking as a sport.
Dodital trek can practically be done throughout the year. It is also a beautiful trek when attempted in winters. Trekkers looking to trek and camp in the snow should attempt the Dodital Trek in winters. The Himalayan Trout Fish is called Dodi in local language and is found in abundance in this high altitude lake. As per the hindu beliefs, Dodital is the birth place for Lord Gangesha. There is a dedicated temple for Lord Ganesha at this lake.
Additionally, we have an option of booking the forest guest house for someone who wants to be comfortable in a room.
It is a great trek for first timers. There is also an option of staying back at Dodital if someone doesn’t want to trek the Darwa top. Uttarakhand region also offer some more treks like Brhamatal Trek, Kedarkantha Trek, Valley of Flowers Trek, Dayara Bugyal Trek for beginners.

3 Hours Before Flight Time
The journey from Hardwar to Sangam Chatti is about 180 Kms. We will stop on the way for breakfast. We will start early to make it to Sangam Chatti in time, we will have evening to explore the authentic Garhwal village. One can interact with locals and experience their culture. Sangam Chatti will be our starting point for Dodital Trek.
After having breakfast we start our trek. The initial trek is a gradual ascend and through number of villages and fields. There are small tea shops and other settlements along the way. We camp here and relax. We will have the entire evening to relax and explore around. There is a stream that flows right next to the campsite.
We start early today. After having breakfast we set out on a moderate trail through Rhodendron, Pine and Oak trees. We will reach Manjhi where we have small shops. We stop here for lunch that we packed from Bhebra.
Another 5-6 Kms from Manjhi is our destination for today, the beautiful Dodi lake (Dodital) According to Hindu Mythology, it is also the birthplace of Lord Ganesha. You can also see a lot of Himalayan Trout Fish but as fishing is not allowed, one can simply feed them and take a walk around the lake.
The trek today takes a lot of energy and effort as it is above moderate trek and quite steep. We will have our breakfast on the way. The initial ascend from Dodital is pleasant through meadows circled with rhododendron trees followed by slightly steep trek towards the end.
Once at the top, one can have a view of peaks like Bandarpunch, Swargarohini and others. We spend some time on the top and click pictures and then start retracing out steps back to Dodital.

We start after breakfast & descend to Bhebra. It is relatively easy descend and can be covered in about 5-6 hours. Evening at leisure. We enjoy some local cuisine and enjoy the rest of the night.
It takes about 2 hours from Bhebra to Sangam Chatti. We have our breakfast on the way down and start out journey back to Hardwar. Our trek ends here.
